A team of about two dozen volunteers on Saturday renovated the center's multi-use room, replacing water-damaged acoustical tiles with newer ones and painting the off-white walls a so Area volunteers raise spirits
Volunteer organization Rebuilding Together Saratoga County put together the effort as part of the national Make a Difference Day campaign.

"It's not about rebuilding, it's about the people," said Ballston Spa resident Kathy Johnson, referring to a number of volunteer efforts she participated in recently. Volunteer Snapshot
Dottie Rucinski Rebuilding Saratoga

In the spring of 2004 Dottie Travis (now Dottie Ruckinski)) was given a newspaper article about a new non-profit organization looking for volunteers to help on construction projects.  Dottie was new to the area and was looking to make new friends.  After all, she would say, volunteers are always the nicest people you’ll ever meet.

Not only is she skilled, she has a heart of gold and has a real soft spot for elderly folks needing assistance in their homes.
