With grateful hearts, Rebuilding Together Saratoga County (RTSC) would like to thank our community for helping their neighbors in need. Over the past few weeks we helped rehabilitate the homes of 30 homeowners and non-profit facilities. In just four short years as an affiliate of the national organization, Rebuilding Together, we have increased the number of projects from five to 30 so far in 2007. Repairs this year included a number of roofs, floor replacement, sheetrock repair, painting, window and door replacements, plumbing and much, much more. These thankful homeowners and their families, if able to, worked right along side our volunteers.
This year we had nearly 500 volunteers who donated their time and energy, many of whom worked on multiple sites. Many homeowners have written to say how grateful they are for the concern and compassion expressed by the volunteers in a very practical manner by helping to fix their homes. We are now compiling a list of volunteers who have expressed the desire to help throughout the year with additional projects. It is indeed a fulfilling experience to roll up your sleeves and help hammer nails for someone in need!
The success of this organization is due to the fact that so many people in Saratoga County give generously of their time and money and feel strongly about their neighbors in need.
