Saratoga Springs, NY – December 12, 2007 – Rebuilding Together Saratoga County (RTSC), the local affiliate of the nation’s largest nonprofit organization working to preserve homeownership, won 3 awards for its marketing materials at the 19th annual national conference that took place in Long Beach, CA. from December 6th to the 8th.
The conference focused on Preserving Affordable Homeownership and brought together more than 300 affiliate representatives from across the country. Three Board Members from RTSC attended the conference where it was announced that the Saratoga County affiliate won 1st Place for Special Communications (Maria Miller of Visual Elements), 3rd Place for its newsletter (Kathleen Stanko of The LA Group, P.C.), and 3rd Place for its website (Juergen Klingenberg of Hound Dog Graphics) – www.rebuildingtogethersaratoga.com.
In 2007, Rebuilding Together Saratoga County worked on 47 projects, 39 homes and 8 non-profit organization facilities. RTSC served 88 people, 25 of whom were elderly, 37 disabled, 32 children, and 19 were female head of household. RTSC mobilized well over 600 volunteers who worked close to 4,000 hours doing needed home repairs, including 10 roofs, 15 plumbing repairs, 6 electrical repairs, 4 wheelchair ramps, as well we numerous windows, doors, floors, grab bars, carpentry, painting and clean-up repairs. Since RTSC’s inception 4 years ago, the organization has completed 99 projects and served 165 people.
