On behalf of the Board of Directors of Rebuilding Together Saratoga County and the hundreds of volunteers who donate their time to help needy homeowners, a sincere and heartfelt thanks to SHIP (Saratoga Housing Improvement Project) for their generous donation of $48,000. SHIP had a vision many years ago of helping to provide affordable housing in Saratoga Springs and were instrumental in building seven duplexes on S. Franklin St. We are humbled by their gift and will use it to buy building materials for our 2007 projects.
Our mission is to rehabilitate the homes of low-income homeowners, particularly those who are elderly or have disabilities, so that they may continue to live in warmth, safety and independence. We leverage every dollar donated to RTSC three to four times over with services given back to the community. SHIP’s legacy will manifest in more than $144,000 of value given back to the community by addressing housing issues for low-income, the elderly and disabled homeowner. In 2006, over 300 volunteers donated more than 2,500 hours of time to help 25 needy homeowners. Thank you SHIP, for the wonderful work you accomplished in the past and for your support of Rebuilding Together Saratoga County.
